About Autonomous Web
Autonomous Web is a skilled and experienced web development company led by Cameron Junge, a web developer with 5 years' commercial experience. Cameron is experienced in utilising server-side (dynamic) technologies to create websites and has worked on over a hundred sites, ranging from brochure sites consisting of a few pages, to online catalogue systems, to online game websites.
Through working on dynamic websites, Cameron has gained experience with several major databases, from the simplicity of MS Access to the power and scalability of MS SQL Server and MySQL. Cameron has strong skills with the SQL language used to interact with these products, allowing him to rapidly build and deploy flexible, yet easy-to-maintain, systems.
After completing a Bachelor of Science at The University of Auckland, majoring in Computer Science, Cameron cut his teeth on web development in 2000 while working for Strongnet Internet, an established ISP and web development company. Initially, he was part of a Coldfusion development team working on small as well as large projects. Coldfusion is a mature, powerful and robust web development platform. Within a few years Cameron became responsible for communications with potential and existing clients, ranging from specification writing and quoting, to completion of the website and delivery to the client. Also, he helped in developing marketing strategies, and most other aspects of running an ISP and web development company on a day-to-day basis.
While working for Strongnet, Cameron added to his Coldfusion skills by extending into PHP and Plone. PHP is a server-side technology that has a low cost of setup, while providing a rich feature set for web developers. Plone is an Content Management System (CMS) that provides an extremely powerful out-of-the-box system that supports online editing, multi-level multi-user support, and many other features.
As part of using web development platforms, Cameron is very experienced with database servers. Whether working with a small MS Access database, or a large MySQL or MS SQL Server database, he is equally at home. Strong SQL skills and knowledge allow Cameron to quickly design and build a simple to maintain database structure that is also flexible.
The middle of 2005 saw Cameron step out on his own to start Autonomous Web. Working with existing and new clients, he uses his skills in Coldfusion, PHP & Plone to provide websites that satisfy all of their business requirements.
Always keen to learn new internet technologies, Cameron is continuously adding to his repertoire of skills and knowledge. Currently he is expanding into .NET, a powerful and interesting web development platform from Microsoft. |
